With childhood obesity becoming an ever increasing concern in todays society, preventative measures must be put in place now at grassroots level in order to ensure a healthier future.

Too many children are being allowed to indulge in the fast food trend without counter-acting it with regular exercise and healthy food intake which is resulting in increased levels of Diabetes and Heart Disease.

Obesity related illnesses are now the single biggest cost to NHS funds at millions per year, and the UK is quickly becoming one of the most obese nations in the world!!

At igymstar we believe the best way to encourage children to exercise more regularly is to engage their immaginations and provide them with exercise through extreme gaming, to the point were they do not even realise they are in a workout as they are having so much fun.

'The mind is in a game whilst the body is in a workout'

With this in mind we have combined the excitement of the latest arcade style technology with exercise routines in keeping with the Key Stage 2 P.E. Curriculum and upwards.
We also provide a concept which makes the lives of teachers so much easier in attempting to deliver all of the fundamental movement skills to children such as: -
Dance (Made easy with our Interactive Dance Mat System)Games (Both team work and individual on the Sportswall)Hand/eye co-ordinationAttention SpanConcentrationMotor SkillsCardiovascular and Muscular DevelopmentBalanceSpatial SkillsTarget Specific Practice (Using the target lights on the Sportswall)Plus many other Fundamental Movement Skills such as rolling, jumping, etc.

Another bonus that we have found with our gym is our ability to engage disaffected children who would usually sit out the conventional P.E. class for one reason or another, opting instead to supply their teacher with a sick note to exclude themselves from participation. Not so when they enter the hall and see an arcade in front of them!!
